The Competition receives grants from Miami Dade Cultural Affairs and the City of Coral Gables to underwrite the school’s transportation.

The Competition also receives support each year from the Lady Suzanna P. Tweed and Carelton Tweed Charitable Foundation. Lady Tweed was an enthusiastic supporter of Merrick Festival and we are pleased that the tradition continues thru her Foundation.

The Festival is pleased to welcome back Coral Gables Community Foundation as a sponsor again this year. The Community Foundation supported the Caroling Competition for more than ten years. They have renewed their committment for the 2009 season.

We are also delighted to welcome another of the fine tenants from the 550 Building to our family of sponsors. CNL Bank has just recently opened for business on the 7th floor and has become an ELF for the Caroling Competition this year. We welcome them!

ROTARY MUSIC AWARD

In 1995, the Caroling Competition created a special Award for the schools that find and perform an original or unusual piece of music, a new setting of old text or a long forgotten, little known piece.

The Rotary Club of Coral Gables sponsors this award with a cash prizes. The Caroling Competition promotes wholesome activities for children and under the guidelines of Rotary International, supports youth mentoring, vocational training and violence abatement in the schools.

2009 SPONSORS

Sponsorship categories include SANTAS contributing $750 or more; ELVES contributing between $300 and $750; HELPERS up to $300. In addition the Competition has six PRIZE CATEGORY SPONSORSHIPS. This level of sponsorship makes it possible for foundations, trusts and benevolent associations to fund a particular prize category (i.e., Full Choir, Show Choir or Small Ensemble) within the Competition
